BNM Raises Balochistan Airstrikes at the UN Human Rights Council
Ahmed Baloch, a member of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), addressed the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, raising recent Pakistani airstrikes in Balochistan and the question of the Baloch people’s political status.
He called on the Council to take action over airstrikes in Surab, Zehri, and Chiltan, which he said had resulted in civilian casualties. He also urged the Council to recognise the Baloch nation’s right to self-determination.
The BNM said it would continue its advocacy and diplomatic activities throughout the 63rd session, part of a wider effort by Baloch organisations to raise Balochistan’s human-rights situation before international bodies.
