The following is a personal testimony by Dr Naseem Baluch.

Today marks six months since my father and my two uncles were forcibly disappeared by the rogue state of Pakistan. They were abducted in the early hours of 2 February, and for six months there has been no information about their whereabouts — no word on where they are, or whether they are alive.

This is the story of thousands of Baloch families whose loved ones have vanished into Pakistan’s network of secret detention and torture centres. These enforced disappearances are not isolated crimes. They are part of a systematic policy of enforced disappearances and collective punishment against the Baloch nation — a slow genocide carried out under a media blackout. Collective punishment is a crime under international law, yet Pakistan continues to act with impunity.

The international community, the United Nations, and human rights organisations must act to end enforced disappearances, ensure accountability, and help protect the people of Balochistan. Pakistan must be held accountable for its crimes against the Baloch people. Silence only emboldens the perpetrators.

I will continue to raise my voice for every forcibly disappeared Baloch, and for an independent Balochistan.
